When you create a Gora account we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, climbing preferences (grades, disciplines, experience level), and profile photos. We also collect:

• Location data — only when you explicitly check in at a gym or crag. We never track your location in the background.
• Device information — device model, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting and analytics.
• Usage data — which features you use, session duration, and interaction patterns to improve the app experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Match you with compatible climbing partners based on grade, location, and schedule.
• Show nearby gyms, crags, and climbing spots.
• Send notifications about matches, messages, and activity updates (with your consent).
• Improve and personalise the Gora experience.
• Ensure safety by investigating reports and enforcing our community guidelines.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these cases:

• With other users — your public profile information (name, photos, climbing grades) is visible to other Gora users for matching purposes.
• Service providers — we use trusted third-party services for hosting, analytics, push notifications, and payment processing. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
• Legal obligations — we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Aggregated, anonymised data may be retained indefinitely for analytics.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Children

Gora is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading, accessing, or using Gora ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Gora. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information in your profile. Impersonation or misrepresentation is prohibited.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Gora for any unlawful purpose or to solicit illegal activities.
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users.
• Post false, misleading, or deceptive content.
• Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Gora systems or other user accounts.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers on the App.

5. Content

You retain ownership of content you post on Gora (photos, text, climbing logs). By posting content, you grant Gora a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content within the App and for promotional purposes.

6. Premium Features

Gora offers optional paid subscriptions via in-app purchases. Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

7. Safety & Reporting

Climbing is an inherently risky activity. Gora is a platform for connecting climbers — we do not verify the skill level, certifications, or experience of any user. Always exercise your own judgment when meeting climbing partners. You can report or block any user through the App.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Gora is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gora and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss of data arising from your use of the App or interactions with other users.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violating these Terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Continued use of Gora after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
